Instructor Moira Stott-Merrithew began her career as a ballerina with the City Ballet of Toronto, and later moved on to study Pilates with Romana Kryzanowska. When a neck injury forced her to adapt her practice by modifying some postures and exercises, she developed what is now known as Stott Pilates. With an emphasis on spine stabilization, Moira has developed a system that combines traditional exercise with Pilates techniques, working with the natural curve of the spine in a neutral or imprint position in a way that improves core strength while toning the entire body. Here, she incorporates a latex band into a series of floor exercises, aiming to simulate the reformer machine used by Joseph Pilates, while avoiding the size and expense of that equipment. Moira's methods are practiced at her original Toronto studio, as well as its international affiliates, and she has developed a wide following with her many instructional videos.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33
